Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensor (5-pack)

$184.00

The Trapmate Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensor (DVMS) is a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy solution for detecting when a rodent or other animal is trapped. The device combines two different sensors — a magnet-activated (reed switch) sensor and a variable-sensitivity accelerometer. Depending on the traps and stations you use, you can choose to use either or both of the sensors to monitor for trap activity.

The Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensor sends alerts to your Trapmate apps via the Trapmate Hub, which can be as far away as 1,000 feet (line of sight) from each sensor. The DVMS is lightweight, durable, and runs for five years on a set of off-the-shelf batteries. The standard configuration uses an external antenna for greater signal reception; if you’re interested in an internal antenna version, please contact [email protected] to discuss pricing and availability.

  • Requires a Trapmate Hub and a subscription to operate

Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensors are sold in packs of 5.

The Trapmate Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensor (DVMS) is an integral component of the Trapmate Hub and Sensors electronic monitoring solution. The "drop and go" DVMS attaches to your snap traps or cage traps and offers two different sensor technologies to provide the best trap monitoring solution for your setup. Depending on the traps and stations you use, our customer success team can advise which sensor combination is best for you.

The Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensor combines a reed switch and an accelerometer. The reed switch is triggered when a magnet's position changes relative to the device, and the accelerometer is triggered when it senses vibrations. The DVMS is designed to work with any trap or station, and Skyhawk is continually creating new adapters to make installation and sensor setup easy. If we don't have an adapter for your preferred traps and stations, we'll customize one for you.

The Dual Vibration/Magnet Sensors communicate with the Trapmate Hub using a proprietary 915MHz radio frequency signal, which allows the sensors to be placed as far away as 1,000 feet when there's a line of sight connection. Range inside of buildings depends on the building layout and building materials, as well as other contents of the building, but can be in the hundreds of feet, particularly if the battery-powered Trapmate Hub is mounted in an elevated fashion. The DVMS comes with external antenna, and, upon request, we can also provide them with internal antennas.

The Vibration/Magnet Sensor is powered by two off-the-shelf AA lithium batteries, and will run for 5 years on those two batteries. The batteries are replaceable.

Deploying the Vibration/Magnet Sensor is easy. No pairing or passwords are required. You register each sensor one time using the Skyhawk Trapmate software, subscribe that sensor if your organization hasn't already done so, and then attach the sensor to the trap. You can photograph the location of the sensor and drop a pin on the map so you know exactly where the device was deployed. You won't need to worry about WiFi or power or other Internet connections -- the sensor automatically finds the nearest Trapmate Hub.

Lower in cost than competitive products, the Vibration/Magnet Sensor provides a cost-effective way to reduce the amount of time your team spends checking empty traps or making unnecessary visits, allowing more time for strategic pest management and/or other clients. Having the VMS installed on a trap also gives you the freedom to place traps in hard-to-reach locations (e.g., drop ceilings) where you wouldn't want to have to check the trap every visit or day.

Use the Vibration/Magnet Sensor to turn any trap into a smart trap. The real-time intelligence you'll get on each trap will allow you to improve your service while reducing your costs, and creates new add-on service offerings, like a rapid response guarantee, that you can bring to your commercial and residential clients.

Subscriptions per sensor are as low as $2.50/month (annual subscription) or $4/month (quarterly subscription) or $9/month (month-to-month).

Additional discounts on subscriptions are available to enterprise customers, depending on product volume. For more information on pricing, e-mail [email protected]
